Digital card issuance and mobile wallet provisioning are add-ons to Q2’s Integrated Card Management product. These features allow cardholders to access their new card information and make purchases before receiving their physical card.
Q2 partners with Ciphertext to provide this functionality. Ciphertext supplies an API layer and business logic necessary to perform these actions.
The interface to Ciphertext launches from within the Integrated Card Management pages in UUX.
The following features are available:
-
Digital card issuance when marking a card as lost/stolen, or ordering a replacement
-
Digital card activation
-
Displaying details of the digital card, including the full card number (PAN), expiration date, and CVV
-
Mobile wallet provisioning for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet (adding a digital card to the cardholder's mobile wallet)
Note
The digital card may not be available immediately. Depending on the pace of synchronization between the FI's core and card processor, this can happen in the session or may take 1-2 business days for the digital card to be available.
Cards can be viewed or added to a mobile wallet. Before viewing the card information, the cardholder must perform step-up authentication with either a secure access code (SAC) or token.
For mobile wallet provisioning, the cardholder is taken to an FI-branded Ciphertext URL, which connects to the mobile wallet provisioning process. If the requested card already exists in the cardholder's mobile wallet, a message confirms this, and the card holder doesn't have to go through the process.
