Customer Classifications Report in Q2 Console Reporting
The Customer Classifications Report in Q2 Console Reporting provides financial institutions (FIs) with a more thorough understanding and breakdown of their customers' commercial traits. To do so, this report identifies customer traits and categorizes customers based on those traits. Categorization is then presented visually to give FIs more transparency and clarification regarding their customer base.
The Customer Classifications Report shows:
- Customer and User counts over the current month (and any available data from past months).
- A breakdown of an FI's customers and users, split between Consumer banking and Commercial banking .

Commercial banking customers and users are further divided into subcategories (if applicable), including:
- Microbusinesses
- Small/medium businesses (SMB)
- Large corporate businesses
Using report data
FIs can use the Customer Classifications Report to gain insight into certain areas, such as:
- Studying the performance of acquiring business banking customers.
- Determining how to package and price different commercial functionality to acquire or upsell business banking customers.
- Verifying the accuracy of feature entitlements by Customer or User.
- Forecasting what customer counts will look like in advance of the next month's invoice.
Viewing the report
Permission to view the Customer Classifications Report must be enabled for each CSR role for which you want to allow access.
Enabling access to the report
To enable access:
- Login to Q2 Console and select the Administration tile.
- Select CSR Roles from the left navigation menu.
- Select the options () menu on the appropriate CSR User Role, then select Edit Rights.
- Check the box in the Enabled column that corresponds to the CONSOLE REPORTING: View Customer Classification Data description, then select Save changes.
All users in the corresponding updated CSR role will have the ability to view the Customer Classifications Report.
Locating the report
Once access has been enabled, the Customer Classifications Report will display in Q2 Console Reporting.
To view the report in Q2 Console Reporting:
- Login to Q2 Console and select the Reporting tile.
- Select Customer Classifications from the left navigation menu.
Downloading the report
The data within the Customer Classifications Report can be retrieved and downloaded for viewing using Generated Reports in Q2 Console. There are two ways to download the report.
To download the report from the Customer Classifications Report page:
- Login to Q2 Console and select the Reporting tile.
- Select Customer Classifications from the left navigation menu.
- Select the generate report icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
To download the report from the Generated Reports page:
- Login to Q2 Console and select the Reporting tile.
- Select Generated Reports from the left navigation menu.
- Select Generate Report, then select the Customer Classification Report option from the Report title column.
- In the As Of Date parameter, select the desired month.Note: Selecting a month that has already passed will pull all data for the entire month. Selecting a current, incomplete month will generate a report with data for the month thus far.
- Select Run Report.
- When the report has finished processing, it will appear in the Reports tab. The report can only be downloaded once the status shows as Complete.
