About permanent test environments in Q2 Console

Q2 Console supports your FI's PTE to allow CSRs with designated access to switch between production and test environments in Q2 Console. In the test environment, CSRs can test functionality in Q2 Console using their FI's test data without affecting end users in production.

CSRs with test environment access can use the dropdown menu in the Q2 Console header banner to switch between production and test environments.

While in the test environment, the application color changes from green to purple so that CSRs can easily distinguish which environment they are actively in.

To switch between production and test environments in Q2 Console

1. Log in to Q2 Console.

2. Select to open the dropdown menu near the name of the Q2 Console environment in the top right corner of the page.

3. From the dropdown, select the environment you want underneath Production or Test.

The available tiles are suffixed with "PTE" on the landing page. Note the purple application color and the TEST indication in the top right corner that indicates a testing environment.

Note

Only CSR admins can enable PTE for CSRs. For steps to enable PTE for a CSR, see Granting access to a Q2 Console permanent test environment.

Tip

If you are a CSR admin who only has access to a PTE, you can only give PTE environment access to new CSRs. You cannot give new CSRs access to a production (PROD) environment. For more information on adding environment access to a new CSR, see Adding new CSRs to Q2 Console.
